In a recent vlog, he admitted to almost quitting on the very first day that he joined the company! He shared that he called his parents the first day in, after seeing fellow members Sungchan and Eunseok.

I remember it clearly. When I first joined the company, I called my parents and said “I don’t think I can do this.” The very first day. I was so shocked. It was the first time I saw people that handsome. Eunseok hyung and Sungchan hyung. They were tall and handsome, and the way I saw it, it was the first time I’d seen such people dance so well too. I thought that I couldn’t make it.

Eunseok and Sungchan are indeed exceptionally handsome and talented. Even when they were trainees, their visuals were unmatched.
