Reunited ‘Breaking Bad’ cast joyfully ‘refuses’ SAG Awards bit: ‘F— em’ – Entertainment News

The Breaking Bad cast reunited at Saturday’s SAG Awards to give the trophy for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series to the actors of Succession. But before the winner was announced, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, RJ Mitte, Betsy Brandt, and Jonathan Banks pretended to revolt against the cheesiness of a script which called for the eight actors to spell out what each letter of the word “ensemble” represents.

‘Breaking Bad’ cast reunite at SAG Awards.

After Gunn explained that “‘E’ stands for the excellence that each cast member brings to every exciting episode” Odenkirk declared that “‘N’ stands for “No, no f—ing way I’m doing this cheesy thing where you say each letter of the word, I’m not doing it.”

“Ah, I mean, I think we have to,” said Paul, pointing in the direction of the teleprompter.

“Eh, teleprompter my ass,” said Norris. “I’ve got a beer and a couple of shots backstage. So let’s get this thing going.”

“No, Bob’s right,” said Mitte. “My grandma wouldn’t even put this on a pillow, it’s so cheesy.

“I know your grandmother, and you’re right, she wouldn’t.” said Brandt. “Listen, you guys, I don’t mean to start ‘T-for-trouble’ but what do you think SAG would do to us if we didn’t do this?”

“It’s an awards show for Chrissakes,” said Banks. “They can’t fire us, so f— ’em!”

“Well, that’s the true ensemble spirit right there,” said Cranston, concluding the bit.
