Karol G’s private jet makes emergency landing after smoke in cockpit – Entertainment News

Karol G’s private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Van Nuys, Calif., last night after the pilot saw smoke in the aircraft’s cockpit, ABC local affiliate KABC reports.

The plane, which took off from Hollywood Burbank Airport on Thursday evening with 16 people on board, turned around shortly after reaching Southern California’s Cajon mountain pass due to the developing situation on board, per the outlet. It landed safely at Van Nuys Airport around 9 p.m. local time, where it was met by emergency crews.

According to KABC, the Grammy-winning artist and her fellow passengers could be seen disembarking from the plane and hugging one another while on the tarmac.

No details have been revealed about why the “S91” singer was in Los Angeles. She is currently on her Latin America stadium tour and scheduled to perform the first of two concerts at the Explanada Cardales de Gayalá in Guatemala City tonight.

However, Karol G is set to return to L.A. next week, when she will be crowned as Billboard’s Woman of the Year at their annual Women in Music event on March 6.
