She is the second solo K-pop artist to achieve this!
BLACKPINK‘s Jennie has made history with the music video for her solo hit “SOLO.”
After five years, Jennie’s “SOLO” MV has officially hit 1 billion views on YouTube. She is only the second K-pop soloist to do so, following PSY‘s viral 2012 hit “Gangnam Style,” the first-ever YouTube video to achieve this remarkable feat in December of that year. Today, it has over 5 billion views.
The “SOLO” music video was first released on November 12, 2018, and hit 1 billion views on February 29, 2024. It has 1,000,265,794 views at the time of writing. Jennie is the first female K-Pop soloist to achieve this accomplishment.
In July 2020, the music video surpassed 500 million views on YouTube. With the feat, Jennie became the first female Korean soloist to have a 500 million-view music video ever. In February 2024, the music video surpassed 1 billion views, making it the first video by a female Korean soloist to reach the mark.

Jennie previously achieved the 1 billion milestone as a member of BLACKPINK. The group’s music videos for hit songs, including “Ddu-du Ddu-du” and “Boombayah,” have all surpassed 1 billion views.
Congratulations, Jennie!
